Atmore woman arrested on drug possession charges

An Atmore woman was arrested April 18 on drug possession charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Leandra Morgan, 33, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said on the day of the arrest at approximately 6:20 p.m., APD narcotics agents executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1800 block of Pouncey Road.

“The agents recovered several grams of methamphetamine and multiple items that were being utilized to ingest narcotics,” McMann said.

McMann said Morgan was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
