In the backyard of a cedar-shake cottage on NC Highway 12 in Ocracoke Village, strings of wooden flying pigs sway in the breeze beneath the branches of bushy fig trees. At Cape Lookout Lighthouse, Darkness Shines
Before the sun’s glow completely vanishes from Harkers Island, our neighboring planet Venus appears as if a light switch was flipped on 24 million miles away.
