Storm chances return the next few days
PEORIA (25News Now) - Our forecast will remain active through much of the next week as on-and-off storm chances continue along with warmer than average temperatures. If you were not able to enjoy some of the warmer and dry weather Sunday, take full advantage today as Monday will be on of the few quiet days this week. Apart from a stray shower or two early this morning, our Monday will trend dry under partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid to upper 70′s. Storm chances will arrive early Tuesday morning as a complex of showers and storms work its way eastward today from the Great Plains. This system is expected to continue into the morning commute hours before we see a bit of dry time. Additional showers and storms will be possible during the afternoon into the evening. An isolated strong to severe storm will be possible at this time capable of producing a brief spin-up tornado, isolated large hail and damaging winds. A level 1 out of 5 risk (Marginal Risk) is in place area wide for Tuesday. The limiting factor will be how long our morning storms last and how much the atmosphere will be able to recover. Another system will bring another chance from scattered strong to severe storms Wednesday. A Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) along and south of Route 17. A Level 3 Risk is in place in areas along and south of Lincoln.
