Pollinator Festival debuts this weekend in Ashland at the Center of the Universe Brewing Company

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Center of the Universe Brewing Company is gearing up to host its very first Pollinator Festival, celebrating the hard work of insects that make Virginia beautiful.

The inaugural Pollinator Festival will be taking place on Saturday, April 20, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Center of the Universe Brewing Company, located at 11293 Air Park Road in Ashland.

According to the brewery’s co-founder Chris Ray, the event will feature vendors and exhibitors from all over Central Virginia, including bee-keeping demonstrators, pollinator plant sales and artisans in nature scenes and mediums.

In addition, there will be a variety of honey and wildflower-infused beers like “BEEr” Orange Blossom Honey Ale and a botanical Hefeweizen.

Ray said there will be live music from singer-songwriter Ben Berumez filling the air of Saint Square and food options like the Jus Cukin’ food truck. An array of beverages including beer, wine, ciders and non-alcoholic drinks will be available as well.
