Expect heavy traffic as country and southern rock festival comes to Ashland

ASHLAND, KY (WOWK) — The “Rock the Country” music festival will be kicking off in Ashland, Kentucky, this weekend with some of the biggest stars in country and southern rock music, bringing with it a great deal of traffic.

The festival will feature names such as Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, Nelly and many more performing from April 19-20 on the Boyd County Fairgrounds at 1760 Addington Road.

Those driving in the area around the time of the festival can expect traffic on all surrounding roads, including Highway 60 and Interstate 64.

Local drivers should plan their commute beforehand or try taking alternate routes if they wish to avoid the worst of the traffic. For maps and other information about the festival, visit the Rock the Country website .

The festival also has upcoming shows in Rome, Georgia; Ocala, Florida; Mobile, Alabama; Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and Anderson, South Carolina. The first show was in Gonzales, Louisiana, back in April 5-6.
