Crime data base law goes into effect Sunday
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The measure creating a cold case crime data base at the West Virginia Fusion Center becomes law. Senator Mike Oliverio, R-Monongalia, the bill’s co-sponsor, said there is a need to organize and preserve cold case information in the event new information or a confession could reopen a case. Oliverio said the data held on these cases will also prevent officials from having to retrace the steps of others or their own to restart an investigation.
