Bear cub injured after being pulled from tree in Asheville

A bear cub is being treated after suffering an injury while being pulled from a tree in Western North Carolina, earlier this week. An investigation was launched after a video surfaced of two bear cubs being pulled from trees, Tuesday afternoon.

The five people are seen near an Asheville apartment complex where two cubs on perched on trees. The group was taken photos and videos with the cubs.

The North Carolina Wildlife Commission responded after the incident was reported. One of the cubs had escaped the premises prior to Wildlife personnel arriving.

The other cub was injured and was taken to a rehab center to be treated. The incident remains under investigation by the state Wildlife Commission.
