Vote: The Citizen Times and Times-News WNC girls soccer midseason player of the year

It's the halfway point of the Western North Carolina girls soccer season, and the top players in the area are starting to set themselves apart.

The Citizen-Times and Times-News are releasing a poll asking readers and high school soccer fans who would be named player of the year if the season ended today.

The poll is embedded below. Fans can vote once per hour. The poll will close Tuesday at noon.

Nora Felty, Brevard, So.: Felty has been one of the best underclassmen in WNC, scoring 22 goals and assisting 12 others for the Blue Devils.

Charley Goodwin, Brevard, Fr.: Goodwin has excelled in her first season, scoring 21 goals along with six assists for Brevard.

Abby Huter, Brevard, Jr.: The Blue Devils' netminder has allowed less than one goal per game, saving 53 shots and giving up eight goals through 13 games.

Amber Hernandez, Madison, Sr.: The striker is leading the Western Highlands Conference with 17 goals and seven assists.

Lailee Holloway, Murphy: The senior striker has scored 17 goals through 10 games of the season, leading Murphy to an 8-3 start. She's also recorded 38 steals.

Kate Pratt, Roberson, Jr.: Pratt paces the Mountain Athletic Conference with 16 goals for the Rams, and she's added six assists on the season.

Mya Burrows-Kurr, Swain County, Jr.: The junior leads the Smoky Mountain Conference with 19 goals through nine games and has added 10 assists.

Gracie Sutton, Swain County, Jr.: Sutton has saved 55 shots for the Maroon Devils while allowing just seven goals.

Marianne Maxon, West Henderson, Sr.: Maxon set the WNC record for career goals scored earlier this season. She has 25 on the year through 12 games.
