OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — It'll be a beautiful Friday & weekend for outdoor plans as highs stay right around 80 with partly cloudy skies through Sunday, with the only caveat being an isolated rain chance in Western Oklahoma Sunday afternoon through evening. Once we get to Monday a weak cold front looks to move through the state, bringing some scattered showers but not a lot of rainfall. We'll drop to the 60s for a day on Tuesday then warm back to the low 70s for the middle of next week. There's still a large amount of uncertainty in the forecast regarding Wednesday and the rest of next week as models are all over the place, but right now there's a chance of a second cold front moving through sometime Thursday through next Saturday, with rain chances possible those days.
Above average temperatures will continue for now with clouds moving on through. Slight chance for rain showers on Tuesday with a better chance on Friday and into Halloween Saturday.
Oklahoma City, Tulsa and western Oklahoma could still face winter disruptions through March 2027.
Cool mornings and pleasantly warm days thru Sunday with a bit more cloud cover. OSU homecoming outstanding! A weak system late Monday and Tuesday will bring scattered mostly very light rain amounts. Stronger systems are due to arrive the very end of October and the first few days in November. Some heavy rainfall is possible. […]
Recent rainfall has improved the drought situation for part of Green Country and much of the state. However, there is still a great need for more rainfall to end it.
We've got plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures left in the forecast. The next few days will see sunny and partly cloudy skies with highs hovering in the low 80s. The next change in the forecast looks to be Sunday, when we could see an isolated rain chance in Western Oklahoma while the rest of us stay dry with highs in the high 70s. Monday will be the best rain chance in the forecast, with scattered showers and highs in the mid 70s. A cold front late Monday night will drop us down into the 60s for the middle of next week with partly cloudy skies. The far too early forecast for Halloween looks to be mostly cloudy with scattered rain and highs in the low 70s.
OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Yet another beautiful October day today in OKC and that will continue for the next few days before we see another pattern change next week. While we could see an isolated shower in Northwestern & Northern Oklahoma tomorrow morning, we'll clear out with mostly sunny skies and highs in the high 70s. We'll stay mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the high 70s through Saturday, before we see some isolated rain chances and cooler temperatures move in starting Sunday. The best chance of rain looks to be Monday, when a cold front swoops in and brings us some scattered showers. Highs look to drop down to the 60s into the middle of next week as the cold front continues into the Southeast U.S.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A strong Pacific storm is set to bring an active stretch of weather across the Southwest and parts of the Southern Plains over the next seven days. Rain, thunderstorms, cooler temperatures, and mountain snow will spread across California and the Four Corners region this week, before rain chances increase across Texas and Oklahoma heading into the weekend and early next week. Flash flooding and severe storms will be the primary concerns as tropical moisture feeds into the system.
The past 30 days over the Plains and Southwest has been one of the wettest Sept/Oct periods on record. A large swath of New Mexico, the Panhandles and Oklahoma have had the rainiest or near record rainiest periods for this time of year. This has been a busy period for...
Dry & above average to finish workweek | 10/21
Aside from a few showers tonight into Wednesday morning, beautiful fall weather is with us for the rest of the week with slightly above-average temperatures.

Illinois has been battered by tornadoes this year. By early September, the state had already recorded 210 tornadoes, shattering the old record of 142 from 2024.
Oklahoma City could reach the upper 70s this week before a potentially mild November transition.
A weather disturbance crosses eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, but dry air limits rainfall.
DENVER, CO — Confidence is growing in a much wetter pattern across large portions of the western United States and the Great Plains during the final week of October, with the active setup potentially continuing into early November. A persistent trough near the West Coast is expected to steer repeated rounds of Pacific moisture inland, bringing lower elevation rain and heavy mountain snow from California and the Pacific Northwest into the Great Basin and Rockies.
Oklahoma City and Tulsa could see increased precipitation, but snowfall totals remain uncertain.
After a record OKC high of 91 Tuesday, we have a chance for patchy frost Saturday morning!. After a much cooler Friday, clear skies, dry air, and lighter winds will set the stage for some frost. A Freeze Warning is out for far northwestern Oklahoma. Some frost is possible in...
