Storm Lake Escapee Back in Custody Facing Additional Charges
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)– A Storm Lake man who escaped from police custody is behind bars after spending more than twelve hours on the run. 25-year-old Luis Rodriguez is said to have escaped while being taken to a patrol car Monday evening following a pre-incarceration screening at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center with officers unable to locate him until Tuesday afternoon when he was spotted in Schaller (Shay-ler) still partially restrained with handcuffs according to a Storm Lake official.

Storm Lake Among Distribution Locations for Discounted Trees Program
A few different kinds of trees are being offered to some residents statewide, and Storm Lake is one of the distribution spots. A mixture of hardwoods, low-growing ornamental, and evergreen tree species are being offered to the public for 25 dollars each through a partnership between the Iowa DNR and Alliant Energy. Customers of Alliant can purchase up to two trees which can be picked up at five locations around the state. Local distribution will be offered at the Awaysis Park in Storm Lake from 4:30 to 6:30pm on Thursday, April 25th.
7 teens arrested after multiple burglaries in Storm Lake, IA
STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) - Several teens have been arrested after a series of burglaries in a Storm Lake, Iowa neighborhood. On Monday, Feb. 12, Storm Lake Police got reports of people illegally entering vehicles and garages around the 800 block of Lilly Court. Police were sent to the area at about 1 a.m. and after speaking to witnesses they confirmed multiple garages and vehicles had been broken into.
Denison Woman Charged for Previously Neglecting Children Following Traffic Stop in Storm Lake
A Denison woman who was wanted on a Buena Vista County warrant regarding neglected children was arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop this past weekend. According to the Storm Lake Police Department, an officer conducted the traffic stop on a vehicle in the one-thousand block of Seneca Street at approximately 8pm Saturday. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Nyakong Dak of Denison. Police found that Dak had a revoked driving status in Iowa for Operating While Intoxicated, and was taken into custody for Driving While Revoked, a serious misdemeanor.

DNR Listening Session Scheduled For Wednesday In Lake View
Each year, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) holds a series of listening sessions throughout the state with Iowans, and Lake View has been selected as one of the communities to host. On Wednesday, Feb. 21, DNR staff will be at the shelter house in Speaker Park at 6:30 p.m. to provide updates on the recently completed hunting and trapping seasons, discuss potential rule changes, and address other topics of interest to the public. DNR Wildlife Bureau Chief Todd Bishop says, “We want people to come out to these meetings, listen to the seasons’ reviews, ask questions, and hear directly from our staff. Part of the meeting will be devoted to discussing potential rule changes and collecting feedback as we work through the rules process.” These meetings are open to the public, and any feedback received will be considered as regulation adjustments are developed. Fort Dodge Man Arrested Following Multi-County Pursuit In Western Iowa Tuesday Evening
A Fort Dodge man is in custody following a multi-county high-speed pursuit Tuesday evening that continued for more than 35 miles. According to Ida County Sheriff Wade Harriman, his office was notified of the pursuit at approximately 9:01 p.m., which began in Dunlap in Harrison County. The suspect vehicle was approaching the Ida County line via U.S. Highway 59. A deputy deployed stop sticks along the pursuit’s projected route and successfully deflated the fleeing vehicle’s tires. The chase eventually ended in a rural area north of Ida Grove, and the driver, identified as 26-year-old Onterrail Redmond Altman, fled on foot. Law enforcement formed a perimeter and began a ground search, eventually locating Altman hiding in a feed wagon. He was booked into the Harrison County jail, where he remains in custody as of this morning (Thursday). Multiple agencies assisted in the pursuit, including the Ida, Crawford, Sac, and Woodbury County Sheriff’s Offices, the Dunlap Police Department, and the Iowa State Patrol.
