Collision in Howard County injures driver
HOWARD COUNTY, MO - A Fayette resident was injured Saturday afternoon during a collision in Howard County. The accident occurred as a vehicle driven by Lewis Karney, 69, of Columbia failed to yield at Route 240 and 124, according to Highway Patrol. A second car occupied by Rebecca Boler, 25, was hit. Boler sought treatment for moderate injuries at University Hospital according to the report.

Several area basketball teams kick-off summer work with the Higbee Shootout
HIGBEE, Mo- Summer work for several area boys and girls basketball programs will get underway May 28th through June 1st with the 2024 Higbee Shootout. The shootout, one of the largest in the state, will feature 173 games across the five-day schedule. Naloxone counteracts opioids. Here's where to learn how to use it in Columbia
The monthly education on opioids and how to treat overdoses with Naloxone, brand name Narcan, will happen May 29 at The Blue Note. The program is a partnership of Boone County Overdose Response Coalition and Columbia Boone County Public Health and Human Services are working together to host the event noon to 1 p.m. at 17 N. Ninth St. Guests will receive information on Naloxone and be able to take a box of the medicine home with them. Registration is not required.
