CI Bakehouse now has a Bread Buyers Card
If you’re like me, you like bread. Bread is life and when it is good, there’s not a out there that’s better. Earlier this week, Central Illinois Bakehouse introduced their Bread Buyers Card, which seems like a no brainer if you’re buying their locally made bread at Urbana’s Market at the Square, Martinelli’s, and/or Pekara. This isn’t such a new concept, as most coffee shops and cafes offer such a deal, wherein you get a free coffee if you fill up your punch card. Why not for bread? Next time you’re snagging a loaf from them, make sure you grab one so you can reap the benefits of your purchase history.

Thirsty Thursday: Vietnamese coffee at 83 Vietnamese
I swear if I don’t get extra caffeine on cloudy days, I’m going to be asleep. Let’s put some pep in our step this Thursday with iced Vietnamese coffee at 83 Vietnamese. The Champaign restaurant’s iced coffee ($5) has a bold and yummy coffee flavor mellowed with sweetened condensed milk. Because of the decadent milk and ice, the coffee didn’t taste bitter and was so easy to sip. Iced coffee is new-ish to 83’s menu — added last summer, and it’s a good drink to have when I’m feeling sluggish. But, honestly, I’ll take any reason to go to the Vietnamese restaurant because I am obsessed with their delicious food. I put the refreshing spring rolls in May’s things to eat, and I also love the pho, the wonton nachos, and the banh mi (so does Matt and also Xiaohui).
