Spring, colorful and busy with events, is always awaited by winter weary citizens who can now go barefooted, ride bikes, play baseball, climb trees and swat flies and mosquitoes. Michigan man charged in fatal Macomb County hit-and-run

Blue Water Area law enforcement to hold ceremony for fallen officers
Local law enforcement will be holding a ceremony Wednesday in honor of fallen law enforcement officers. The ceremony is being hosted by the U.S. Customs and Border Protections Office of Field Operations at the International Flag Plaza near Blue Water Bridge. Other participating law enforcement offices include the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office, Port Huron Police Department, Michigan State Police and U.S. Border Patrol Detroit Sector.

The aurora borealis lit up area skies over the weekend, bringing the second celestial phenomenon in a month. Also known as the northern lights, the aurora borealis were the result of a severe geomagnetic storm caused by solar flares. Colorful auroras can be visible when electrons collide with Earth’s upper atmosphere.

Gary Hines didn’t want to lose his hair. Authorities searching for missing Michigan girl, 16, who might be in Indiana
(CBS DETROIT) - Shelby Township police are asking for the public's assistance in finding a teen who was last seen on Saturday. Police say Mariah Smith, 16, was last seen on May 11 near Dequindre and Hamlin roads. It is not known what Smith was last seen wearing, but she could be near Fort Wayne, Indiana, "according to a phone ping," police said. She is described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall, 135 lbs., with braided hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is urged to contact Shelby Township Det. Volunteers boost tree canopy at New Baltimore’s Festival Park
New Baltimore’s tree canopy is expanding thanks to the efforts of local volunteers. A total of 31 trees were planted at Festival Park on May 11 at an event coordinated by ReLeaf Michigan in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service, Macomb County Planning & Economic Development, and New Baltimore Parks and Recreation, with additional assistance from Anchor Bay Packaging Corp. and Bay-Rama.
