Once-thought Aransas Pass accidental shooting ruled as intentional
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A shooting in Aransas Pass that police initially believed was accidental, has now been ruled, as intentional, according to APPD officials. On Friday night officers arrived to a home on Yoakum Avenue where they found 18-year-old Philip Esslinger shot in the chest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A Perry man was sentenced this week to 52 years in federal prison for sexually assaulting a woman and forcing her to drive at gunpoint to the Texas coast.
