APPLETON - Soda Bar, a shop dedicated to handcrafted, customizable drinks, is opening a second location with more space for customers to lounge and enjoy their treats.

On April 20, Soda Bar's second location will be hosting its grand opening at 734 N. Casaloma Drive from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with prizes, giveaways and new merchandise on display.

Co-owner Rod Richardson said the biggest difference from the first location, 134 E. Northland Ave., is the new lobby area.

"The Northland Avenue location is mostly a drive-thru," Richardson said. "We think that the lobby is going to be really nice for the wintertime especially."

Soda Bar is known for its customizable fountain drinks, energy drinks, lemonades and water. Customers can choose a drink base and add their own flavors, syrups and creams to create their very own handcrafted beverages. For those who are unsure of what flavors to combine, the shop offers their own signature drink mixtures. Customers can also enjoy sweet treats like cookies, cookie sandwiches and cake pops.

The first Soda Bar location opened in July 2023, with the goal to bring "dirty sodas" to Wisconsin, a concept that is popular in the West. While customers can walk in and order their drink cocktails at the Northland Avenue location, it is mostly centered around a drive-thru window, with little seating available.

Richardson said another benefit of the new location is its more accessible location.

"We're looking forward to being closer to that part of Appleton," Richardson said. "The Northland store has been good but we've talked to people that said they didn't want to drive across town regularly, so we're excited to be more accessible to our fans."
