There was no repeat champion in the WPIAL Class 2A swimming championships Friday afternoon at Pitt’s Trees Pool. The girls WPIAL Class 2A swimming championship came down to the last event of the day. Leading by two points over second-place Quaker Valley and 10 points over third-place Mt. Pleasant, Kiski Area just needed to hold on to third place in the 400 free relay to secure a victory.

PENN HILLS (KDKA) - One man is in critical condition after an early morning shooting in Penn Hills. According to Allegheny County Police, just after midnight, Penn Hills Police were called to the 2700 block of Robinson Boulevard. Once they arrived, they found a man who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Penn Hills Police requested the assistance of Allegheny County Police homicide detectives and an investigation is underway. WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — Rocky Jo Yeager, 53, is charged with stealing from the senior centers she was hired to help. Yeager was director of Laurel Valley Senior Center, with facilities in New Florence, Ligonier and New Alexandria, when police said she stole more than $4,000. According to court papers, police said Yeager wrote herself checks and made unauthorized purchases with the non-profit corporate credit card.

SPRING CHURCH MAN KILLED IN CAR CRASH TUESDAY MORNING
A Spring Church man died in a crash on Route 156 in South Bend Township yesterday. State police say that 22-year-old Nicholas DiFilippo, Jr. of Spring Church was driving East on Route 156 when for an unknown reason, his car crossed into the opposite lane and collided nearly head on with a truck driven by Jacob Edge of Wilmore. DiFilippo was declared dead at the scene, while Edge suffered suspected minor injuries and was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center.
