WOODBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut State Police officials say an Ansonia man accused of sending inappropriate messages to a minor was arrested Wednesday.

Michael Bernaud, 27, was charged with risk of injury to a child.

Police said he turned himself into state police in Litchfield after learning there was an active warrant out for his arrest.

The warrant stemmed from an investigation into inappropriate direct messages Bernaud apparently sent a juvenile victim between January and March, including offering to pay the victim to film an inappropriate video.

Bernaud was released on a $50,000 cash/surety court set bond. He’s scheduled to appear for a court arrangement at Waterbury Superior Court on May 1.
