One of the first signs of spring is near, as the North Artists Studio Crawl takes place Saturday-Sunday, May 4-5 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The North Artists Studio Crawl has 25 artists this year that will be exhibiting original artwork in seven open studios in the north suburban communities of Anoka, East Bethel, Ham Lake, Nowthen and Oak Grove. Watch for signs to direct viewers, and a printable map is available online at www.rumriverart.com/north-studio-artists-crawl/. Maps are located at each studio, and Rumriver Art Center.

There is a wide variety of artwork this year, including: pottery, jewelry, wood working, large sculptures, blown glass, alcohol ink, printmaking, acrylic painting, oil painting, and more. Drive on a casual self-guided tour to see a variety of artforms by local artists. There will be many guest artists at most locations, and each year there are new artists that join the crawl. New participants this year include Leilani Schuppan’s acrylic painting (Studio D, Rumriver Art Center 2665 4th Avenue, Anoka) and Lewis Derry, pottery (Studio E, 2865 Westlund Dr. NE, Ham Lake).
