Cooler, drier, and overall pleasant for our Tuesday and Wednesday
Happy Tuesday, Northland! Though it wasn’t a cool day by any stretch, cloud cover helped prevent widespread 80s across the Northland. Some spots did still did get into the upper 80s, but most stayed in the upper 70s and lower half of the 80s, with a lake breeze keeping the Twin Ports and North Shore cooler. As a cold front made its way in during the evening and overnight hours, storm action ramped up along with it. Showers are still moving through along the cold front, but as blustery northwest winds behind the front brings in direr air, we will begin to see the showers clear out and the sunshine to move back in. Overall, the cold front will keep conditions quite comfortable over the next couple of days. Dew points will stay in the 50s at most so we will have a nice break from the mugginess. Temperatures today will stay quite cool, with highs ranging from the upper 60s in northern Minnesota into the 70s south of Highway 2. As a high-pressure system makes its way through, overnight temperatures can dip into the lower 50s and 40s. Temperatures will be a bit warmer Wednesday but still comfortable with highs in the 70s and lower 80s.

Warm and muggy day with potentially severe storms overnight
Happy Monday, Northland! With plenty of sunshine, seasonal temperatures, and a lake breeze, it was quite a pleasant first couple of days for August. For the third day of August, conditions are going to look a bit different thanks to t system off to the west. There is some ongoing showers and storms for north central Minnesota, though the threat should be limited not just currently but through much of the day. During this time, southerly flow will bring temperatures comfortably into the 80s, though the North Shore and potentially lakeside areas of the Twin Ports can stay a bit cooler with the influence of Lake Superior. With the dew points also rising up towards 70 degrees or more, it won’t be near the hottest days of the summer but it will for sure be a bit on the warm side.
