BYU Women's Soccer Seniors Leave Legacy, Inspiring Future Utah Athletes
The Brigham Young University (BYU) women's soccer team's 2023 graduating class has made notable contributions to the school's history. Under coach Jennifer Rockwood, the team participated in the NCAA Women's College Cup twice in the last three years. Seniors Jamie Shepherd and Olivia Wade-Katoa played key roles in these achievements, despite a 2-0 loss to Stanford in the national semifinal.
Robinson scores career-high 24 points as No. 19 BYU coasts past Fresno State to move to 7-0
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Jaxson Robinson scored a career-high 24 points, making six 3-pointers, while Spencer Johnson added a career-high 22 points to lead No. 19 BYU to an 85-56 victory over Fresno State on Friday night. Johnson also had five assists and five rebounds for BYU (7-0), which has won 12 straight non-conference games dating back to last season – the program’s longest streak since 2011. The Cougars improved to 23-5 all-time in games played at the Delta Center, the home arena for the Utah Jazz. “We’re a deep team,” Johnson said. “A lot of dudes can play. A lot of dudes can shoot. It’s just awesome to be part of.” Isaiah Hill led the Bulldogs with 14 points. Jalen Weaver added 10. Fresno State (3-4) suffered its third straight loss after trailing by double digits throughout most of the game.

Silverwolves have great showing in 6A state cross country championship
In a deep and talented field of runners and teams, the Riverton cross country team more than held its own. At the Oct. 26 state meet, Riverton placed fourth in Class 6A on both the boys’ and girls’ side. The boys had five runners in the top 61 of all participants, including three in the top 25. Meanwhile, the girls edged out Herriman and were 34 points behind third-place Westlake. The girls placed three runners in the top 25 and five in the top 48.
BYU women’s volleyball hosts NCAA volleyball opening rounds Friday
Dust off the seats and polish the floor at the Smith Fieldhouse. The NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament is coming to town. In what is practically an annual event, BYU women’s volleyball is playing host to the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament beginning Friday. The No. 4-seed Cougars face Weber State in Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. MT, with Georgia against No. 5-seed Arizona State precede that match at 4:30 p.m. MT. The winners will play on Saturday for a berth in the Sweet 16.
Young Mountain Ridge cross country team makes strides

The Sentinels finished ninth on the girls’ side, while the boys placed 13th.
Hawks bow out in state football semifinals
Alta lost in the state semifinals Nov. 9 to 10th-seeded Bountiful by the count of 20-19, ending the Hawks’ season at 10-4. The game was back and forth all night long, but Bountiful scored the winning touchdown with a minute left to play, erasing a 19-14 deficit to go up for good.

The Miners girl’s basketball squad fell once more on Thursday evening, this time losing 63-24 to the Alta Hawks on the road. The Miners trailed for the entirety of this contest, following a rough start which saw them take a 19-6 deficit into the second quarter. A bright spot for Park City was the return of senior guard Leah Yaeger, who scored a team-high six points on the night, after exiting the team’s previous contest with an injury.
