Louisiana man accused in Ponzi scheme with fictitious E-trade account; deputies seek victims.
A Belle Rose man told friends he was investing their money in the market through E-Trade but was really running a Ponzi scheme, Assumption Parish sheriff's deputies said. Deputies arrested John Michael Thibodeaux, 44, on Friday after a five-month investigation following a complaint filed by his victims. Sheriff's office spokesman Lonny Cavalier said authorities have received calls from other potential victims as well and are still calculating how much money was involved.

Members of the South Lafourche High School Class of '68 gathered on Saturday, April 12th at The Rendezvous in Thibodaux to honor one of their own, Ron Estay. Ron was a standout defensive Lineman for the Tarpons in '66 and ’67 and went on to achieve All-American status at LSU, and then The Canadian Football League, where, during his career, he played in nine "Grey Cups", the equivalent of our Super Bowl.

NAPOLEONVILLE — A Belle Rose woman was arrested by the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office for allegedly breaking into a home and attacking the owner. Phoebe Ann Joseph, 51, forcefully entered a Klotzville home on Sunday, deputies said. The owner of the house called the Sheriff's Office after had Joseph allegedly physically attacked him and left the home.

Vandebilt Catholic High School senior MacKenzie Glynn took the next step in her track and field career on Wednesday when she signed to compete collegiately. In a ceremony at the VCHS library in front of her family, friends, teammates, and coaches, Glynn officially became a college athlete when she signed her letter of intent to compete at Nicholls next spring.
