Volunteers help prepare Hermon Little League fields for opening day
HERMON--Baseball season is underway and in order to prepare for the opening day of Little League in Hermon, volunteers gathered over the weekend to get the fields prepared. Approximately 75 folks from the community gave of their time to rake or weed the baseball and softball fields in Hermon on Sunday. Players, parents and coaches lent a hand to pick up trash and debris at the fields.

Bangor girls lacrosse defeats Northern Maine for second straight win
BANGOR - Bangor girls lacrosse's offense continued on its hot streak on Wednesday night, defeating the Northern Maine Moose co-op 19-8 at Cameron Stadium. The two teams traded goals in the early minutes of the game with the Moose taking a 3-2 lead. Bangor then scored seven unanswered goals to take a 9-3 lead. Their lead went to 11-4 at the half and continued their roll in the second half. This marks the Rams' second straight win and second straight game with 10-plus goals scored.
