'DEEPLY SORRY' | Man who severely injured a motorcyclist and left the scene sentenced
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The man who severely injured a motorcyclist in a crash and left the scene last year has been sentenced. The crash happened in September of 2023 on Division Avenue South near Plaster Creek. Police found a man who had been riding a motorcycle critically injured when they arrived on the scene.

Funeral arrangements for Michigan State Police sergeant who died unexpectedly announced
ROCKFORD, Mich. — A Michigan State Police sergeant who died unexpectedly over the weekend will be laid to rest on Friday. Sgt. Matthew Rogers, 50, was born in Coldwater but has spent much of his adult life in Rockford. He leaves behind two daughters and family who remember "his infectious laugh, his unwavering integrity, and his generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him," the obituary reads.
GR not expanding parking meter enforcement to weekends but other parking fees are increasing
“It’s never going to make people happy. No one wants to pay for parking.”. But Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn bliss says parking fees are part of city life. Included in the parking plan, city manager Mark Washington says the maximum special event fee will increase from 15 dollars to 25.
