CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) -A child molester from Sparks serving a life sentence died in prison Saturday, the Nevada Department of Corrections said Wednesday. Jose Antonio Guardado, 56, was sentenced in 2015 to 45 years to life for sexual assault of a child, lewdness with a minor and possessing a stolen motor vehicle.

Division of State Parks asking for public input on overcrowding plan
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada Division of State Parks is asking the public for feedback on their master plan to deal with overcrowding at Sand Harbor State Park. They say the annual visitation to the park has increased 250% over the last 10 years, from 365,000 in 2012 to 1.2 million in 2023. The new master plan will allow park managers to respond to changes in visitation numbers.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is searching for two missing elderly men in what they say are unrelated cases. Barry Stephenson was recently reported missing by friends and was last seen on July 8 in Sparks after taking a bus from Carson City.
