Settling down with sunny skies and warmer temps as conditions improve in Eastern Washington & Oregon
A ridge will build into the region Thursday bringing sunshine and mid 70s to kick off a warming trend that brings us back into the mid 80s for the weekend with partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions. Thursday will be gusty along the lower east slopes of the Cascades and in the Kittitas and Yakima Counties. Clouds slowly increase Friday night through Sunday morning ahead of the next system slowly deepening from the Gulf of Alaska. Temps will reach the mid to low 80s through the gusty weekend.
Unsettled weather remains with thunderstorms and popcorn showers in Eastern Washington
Still unsettled today in Eastern Washington with a chance of thunderstorms east of Moses Lake and north of Dayton from 1 to 9 p.m. The storms will be traveling west to east as a quick system passes through. Temps will be cooler in the upper 60s and low 70s today so thunderstorm chances will be slight (10-20%) if any do form. From the Cascades to the Blues for Eastern Washington and Oregon, popcorn showers this afternoon will produce bursts of light to moderate rainfall.

Summer may be here, but so is the cold as temperatures are expected to drop as low as 32 degrees until Thursday morning around 8 a.m. throughout the north Idaho Panhandle and eastern Washington. Keep an eye on your plants and remember to dress warm.
Warriors take 2nd at State 1B Baseball Tournament
Almira-Coulee-Hartline’s baseball team took 2nd at the State 1B Tournament in Ephrata over the weekend…. The Warriors advanced to the championship with an 11-1 win over Naselle Friday. DeSales proved too tough for the title as the Irish defeated ACH 6-nothing. Liberty Christian edged Naselle for 3rd, winning 8-7.
Calm before the storm as a thunderous afternoon is expected in Northeastern Oregon and Eastern Washington
The instability increases Tuesday just a little further east of the Tri-Cities. A chance for more severe thunderstorms in Idaho and the very edges of the Washington and Oregon borders after 2 p.m. These storms will have more intense versions of the same conditions associated with the first wave of storms, bringing heavy rainfall, windy conditions and small hail. Lightning can spark a wildfire with the dry conditions we have in Eastern Washington and Oregon. These storms will last from 2 - 8 p.m. tonight with the instability moving further north into the top half of Washington. Tuesday will be windy and cloudy with temps in the low 80s and upper to mid 70s. Wind speeds will be 15-25 mph and gusts will be 25-35 mph through Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. A chance of stray, light rain showers in the Yakima and Kittitas Valleys early this afternoon.

High pressure keeps building as we warm up to the mid and upper 90s by Saturday. Lots and lots of sunshine with no active weather expected until Sunday at the earliest. Fire danger will increase and we could see some haze forming in the Tri-Cities from accumulated pollution by the weekend. Temperatures heat up to the 70s for Memorial Day
