Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts brought the frenzy to Raising Cane's in Alhambra Wednesday morning.

Droves of fans flocked to the location with a massive line wrapped around the restaurant as Betts worked a shift serving customers in the drive-thru and the counter.

The lucky few who were able to get their orders taken by Betts also got to meet him and get his autograph.

"It was all worth it to come out here," Dodgers fan Brian Galvan of Alhambra said. "Stay up all night. Once in a lifetime, might as well do it - all for his signature."

Betts' visit was all for a good cause, too. Raising Cane's is donating $100,000 to Betts' 5050 Foundation , which funds sports programs at inner-city schools and provides physical, mental, financial and nutritional education.

"It means the world to me to know that L.A. has really come out in support of myself, my family and my friends and my foundation," Betts said.

"This why I want to continue to pour back into L.A. and doing things like this," he added.

Betts made the visit a day before the Dodgers' first regular season game at Dodger Stadium this year. The team opened the regular season in Seoul against the Padres and returned to Southern California for a three-game exhibition series against the Angels. The Dodgers play the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday with Betts expected to bat first in the lineup.

"L.A. natives, we really idolize our teams and our players," Matthew Brooks of Corona said. "When you're here, you're one of us, so to see you out here amongst all of us and serving and giving back to the community, it's really big."
