    Blowing dust alert issued for Albuquerque

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque announced Wednesday that a health alert due to blowing dust has been issued. The alert from the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Air Quality Program will be in effect from Wednesday, June 19 at 4:00 p.m. to Thursday, June 20, at 6:00 a.m.

    Those with respiratory conditions in the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County should limit outdoor activity. The city recommends taking the following steps during health alerts:

    • Limit time spent outdoors and avoid outdoor exercise
    • Keep windows and doors closed
    • Use air conditioners and heating systems in recirculation mode
    • Contact your health provider if you experience new shortness of breath, chest tightness, chest pain palpitations, or unusual fatigue
