ABQ BioPark loses Koluk
Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Sad news from the ABQ BioPark with their announcement of the death of the zoo’s 26-year-old polar bear Koluk. The big white bear was diagnosed with heart disease in 2019 and was taking daily medication. The animal care staff reports that in recent days, he hadsuffered from a lack of appetite, sluggishness, and stiffness. A full exam was performed on May 19th. During that procedure, staff discovered severe liver and kidney disease. According to a release, Koluk was humanely euthanized today after his health was rapidly declining.
Smith's grocery store closed due to 'mouse infestation'
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A Smith's grocery store off Eubank Boulevard NE and Juan Tabo Boulevard NE closed its doors on Wednesday due to a 'mouse infestation.'. The state's Environmental Health Department conducted an inspection on Wednesday and found evidence of the infestation. Its findings led to an immediate closure of the store, according to EHD.
