Thunderstorm chances increase overnight
It’s been a hot and mostly sunny day with clouds entering through the afternoon, driven by a weak approaching low-pressure system. We will see scattered showers and storms overnight into Monday morning before clearing out by late morning. However, by mid-afternoon, these chances return as daytime heating fires up new convection. Temperatures will take a slight hit, but we’ll still see daytime highs in the lower 90s. The thunderstorm threat will taper off by Tuesday as drier air moves in, leaving Wednesday and Thursday dry and breezy. By late week into the weekend, a strong high-pressure ridge will build over the Great Basin, bringing a much hotter pattern with clear, sunny skies and temperatures soaring into the upper 90s.
