STMA Rotary Students of the Month announced for May

The St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club announced that St. Michael-Albertville Knights Academy juniors Jazlyn Jolly, Zoey Solum, and Sam Vukelich were recognized as the Rotary Students of the month for May.

Jazlyn, whose parents are Dary and Jay, has made the B honor roll. She is proud of where she is in life today and the perseverance she has displayed. Jazlyn plans to attend community college after graduation but has not yet decided what she would like to study.

Zoey, daughter of Becky and Nathan, has made it onto the honor roll and is proud to be passing all of her classes. Zoey makes a difference in her school community by being actively involved in student council. After high school, Zoey would like to pursue a career working with children in some capacity.

Sam, whose parents are Michelle and David, has achieved a place on the Knights Academy Honor Roll. Outside of school, Sam works hard at McDonald’s. After graduating from high school, Sam plans to pursue further education at a trade school in Florida.

“Rotary is very proud to recognize Jazlyn, Zoey, and Sam as students of the month,” STMA Rotary Club President Derek Brant said. “They have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and represent the service above self ideals of Rotary. We wish them a successful future.”

The STMA Rotary Club honors students of the month during each month of the school year. The awards are given during the students’ junior year so they may include them on college applications and scholarship forms. Rotary Students of the Month are selected by STMA homeroom teachers.

Rotary Students of the Month must demonstrate an interest in their community, have personal accomplishments or achievements, show respect to themselves and others, show a passion for Service Above Self, must be drug/alcohol free, and cannot have committed a crime.
