Mead Hall Episcopal School held its its annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, a beloved fundraiser that supports the school. The festival is centered around the sale of fresh strawberries, along with treats like strawberry ice cream.

Visitors were able to shop from various local vendors, enjoy several bounce houses and inflatable slides, plus a face painting booth and dunk tank. The school’s annual book fair was also open during the event.

One Mead Hall seventh grader Savannah Warren, said that she enjoys coming to the festival each year “to support school spirit and to just look around and have fun.”

Kelly Reynolds, a parent volunteer and member of the Parent Teacher Organization, was the coordinator of this year’s festival.

“This is the largest fundraiser of the year,” she said. “It raises funds for our facilities, infrastructure, teachers and academic programs.”

Reynolds said that the festival — an Aiken staple for 40 years — is also a way to bring people together.

“It truly reflects the Mead Hall community,” she said of the event. “While the face of a festival looks different through the years, everybody still comes together and knows this day and the value in it for school and for community.”
