UVA (33-18) got a pair of two-run homers from Macee Eaton and Jade Hylton. Hylton was 3-for-4 on the day with the homer, two runs scored and three RBIs. “I was really happy with the performance today,” said UVA coach Joanna Hardin, who picked up her first win in an NCAA Tournament as a head coach since 2016, when she took McNeese State to the tournament, and led that team to an upset of Arizona State in a first-round game.
Graduating student leaders reflect on how they impacted the University community
During their time at the University, the Class of 2024 navigated several challenges, from the COVID-19 pandemic to the Nov. 13, 2022 shooting. Their class was the first to begin their time at the University amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, navigating a delayed move into University housing as well as a year with both virtual and in-person classes. Amidst these tumultuous events, students within the class rose to positions of leadership. As they created clubs and represented students through work in traditional student self-governance organizations, this graduating class demonstrated its resilience over the past four years.

As I approach my final days on Grounds, I find myself reflecting on all the memories that I have made here. Am I ready for this adventure of a lifetime to be over? Of course not. Justin Malone, currently serving as principal at Jackson-Via Elementary School, is set to be Charlottesville High School’s new principal come July 1. This marks Malone’s return to CHS, where he previously served as an assistant principal from 2013 to 2017. Prior to his time at CHS, Malone began his career as a special education teacher in Greene County and advanced to leadership positions within the school division.

UVA ROTC graduate killed in non-combat training accident

Suspect charged with Elkton man’s murder certified to Grand Jury
