Birmingham Federation of Teachers president not surprised by drastic increase in ACAP scores
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) -After the Alabama Literacy Act went into effect last year, we’re taking a look at this year’s Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program scores. Scores show a drastic increase, something one local teacher advocacy group says is no surprise. The data shows 91 percent of third graders are reading at or above grade level, which is up from just 83 percent last year.
