Valerie Benatti, 29, pleaded guilty to drug delivery resulting in death on Wednesday, May 1, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office. Authorities said they were called to a home on the 100 block of Slackwater Road in Conestoga Township for a suspected overdose on Aug. 20, 2022. An autopsy later revealed the victim died from acute fentanyl toxicity, the DA's Office said.

(Ephrata, PA) -- A man from Ephrata Borough is sentenced to 18 months in prison for lying about his military service in veterans court. Jose Vasquez was ordered to attend Veterans Court after his conviction for pistol whipping a former co-worker in 2022 because he had been in the reserves. Vasquez told the court he had been deployed overseas and had received military honors, and none of his claims were true. He was sentenced to prison for a probation violation related to the false claims.
