Crime Reports: $6,500+ worth of items reported stolen in Abilene area robberies, burglaries

Editor’s Note: The following arrest and incident reports were supplied by the Abilene Police Department. All information below comes from reports made by responding officers, and all suspects are considered not guilty unless determined otherwise in a court of law.

Incidents

4300 block of Southwest Drive – Theft of Property
A witness reportedly saw a woman steal $64 worth of items from a grocery store. Among the lost merchandise were light bulbs and sunscreen.

1300 block of Yeomans Road – Credit or Debit Card Abuse
A woman reported that her debit card was used without her permission when she noticed an unauthorized charge of $800+ from an online gambling game.

1700 block of Butternut Street – Burglary of Building
Police responded to a disturbance to find that a suspect had broken into a business overnight and ‘removed property from said business.’ Stolen items included a tablet, air compressor, and oil valued at $3,023 total. The lost items were recovered on scene, and a suspect was arrested.

5300 block of Texas Avenue – Burglary of Building
A business reported that an unknown suspect entered the building through an unsecured door overnight, and took multiple items of value. The business wants to press charges if police can identify the suspect.

1600 block of South 12th Street – Theft of Property
$4,200 worth of tools were reportedly stolen from a job site. Police say the site was broken into over the weekend, and there are no suspects at this time.

2400 block of North Willis Street – Assault; Impede Breath
No further information released.

800 block of Poplar Street – Burglary of Vehicle
$1,270 worth of tools were reported stolen from a victim’s unlocked truck. The victim is wanting to press charges.

3900 block of South 1st Street – Theft of Motor Vehicle
A Ford F-150 valued at $3,500 was reportedly stolen.

4100 block of Ridgemont Drive – Theft of Property
A victim told police they were given “movie money” in exchange of an amplifier and speaker valued at a total of about $450.

1800 block of South 9th Street – Burglary of Building
Police investigated a burglary at an unoccupied residence. No arrests were made.

4200 block Woods Place – Assault of a TCCO Officer/ Employee
A man allegedly assaulted two men in South Abilene. The victims are not pressing charges.

5200 block of Highway 277 – Criminal Mischief
A rideshare driver told police a woman caused $500 worth of damages to their vehicle “after a disturbance with the driver.”

900 block of East South 11th Street – Criminal Trespass
Police arrested a known suspect at a gas station. The victim wants to press charges.
