Abilene PD to increase traffic enforcement through the end of 2023
ABILENE, Texas — The Abilene Police Department said it will continue its increased traffic enforcement through the end of 2023. The increased enforcement will go towards helping change driving habits and making the roads safer for all drivers. Selected officers will target specific areas of Abilene by increasing enforcement for a month-to-month period through a grant provided by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Man in a red car takes bike from 8-year-old.
ABILENE, Texas — A neighborhood in Buffalo Gap is on high after a man in a red car took a bike from an 8-year-old while he was walking home from school. The child described the man as a Hispanic male in his mid-30’s with facial hair. The man was wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and a hat. He was driving a 4-door red car with chipped paint. The man aggressively demanded the bike from the child. The child then put the bike in his trunk and ran.
Kellerton Man Sentenced to Prison for Arson and Attempt to Commit Murder
(Taylor Co) The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office says 69-year-old Ellis Earl Houk, of Kellerton, was sentenced Tuesday to two consecutive sentences of 25 years in relation to his arson and attempt to commit murder convictions. Houk was additionally sentenced to three 10-year sentences on the other three charges. The 25-year sentences ran consecutive will require Houk to spend a mandatory 35-years in custody without the chance to parole.
