Crash report: Abilene woman dies in Lubbock County head-on collision

ABILENE, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – An Abilene woman was killed in a Lubbock County vehicle wreck over the weekend.

In a preliminary crash report, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) shared that two drivers were killed in a head-on collision around 11:30 p.m. last Saturday night.

According to the released investigation notes, an Abilene woman was driving a 2022 Dodge Ram pickup truck as she traveled north along US Highway 87 through Lubbock County, but she was driving in the south travel lanes.

Another driver in a 2015 sedan was traveling south in the appropriate lane, colliding into the pickup truck. This happened at FM 1585.

Both drivers, Christina Castro, 33, of Abilene and Marcos Noyola Castanon, 23, of Wilson, were pronounced dead at th scene due to their crash injuries.
