Christmas Prelude and The Holiday Season!
The arrival of December means that the winter season here in Maine is in full overdrive. This will be the first winter I have ever lived through since growing up in tropical and desert countries robs you of that experience. We actually got our first legitimate 1–3 inches of snow this past Wednesday which both astounded and worried me at the same time. I was surprised to see my car covered in some snow which was hilarious to me. 7 years of living in southern California and not a single time was my car covered in actual snow! Of course, those frosty nights in Ojai did get cold though.

Winter is officially here with the advent of cold and crisp air rushing into Maine. It is heading down into the 30s (this is Fahrenheit for those of you that live in the United States, the equivalent would be -1 degrees Celsius). During the daytime, it is still cold, but the sun is out depending on how much cloud clover you have. Nonetheless, Thanksgiving is over with Christmas replacing the holiday craze that possesses everyone this time of year.

It has been more than a month since I landed in Maine at Portland International Jetport as I stare at the gloomy weather outside. Maine has a reputation of changing weather sporadically with it being sunny one day and rainy the next. Last night, I was talking to my parents when a cold front had started creeping in at 10PM. Then, it just came down like a monsoon peppering the street with endless droplets.

Traveling Out of Kennebunk (finally!) It is so crazy to think about how time is like a malleable river in some ways when you travel to a new location but also settle in at the same time. At first, you feel like you have been swept along a great current where your surroundings constantly change day-in and day-out. That was me when I first arrived in Portland, Maine at the airport on a cold night at the stroke of midnight. However, it has been almost a month since then which is amazing! Now, instead of the great current pushing me along like a stone tumbling on the bottom of a river, I feel like I am slowing down as I get set in my routine of life. During the week, I have my regular 9–5 where I am working along with the gym. However, on the weekends, I am free to spread my wings and explore where I want to which is freedom.
