Missoula Children’s Theatre Brings Rapunzel To Wolf Point
Forty-one Wolf Point elementary students participated in last week’s Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of Rapunzel. Practices took place all week with the performance held on Saturday, April 20. The cast of characters included Brylee Bearcub, as Tower Rapunzel; Anna Matejovsky as Room Rapunzel; Christian Brock, Prince #1; Andreus Kirk, Prince #2; Mersadies Sutton, Madame Gothel; Rylan Campbell, Maurice; and Aaliyah White, Monique. Performing as Wood Elves were Amara Peterson, McKinlee Paulsen, Honour Gustafson, Cheyanne Bouldin, Shawnee Bellymule and Hope Pipestem. Talia St. Germaine was Ears of Corn, Adaliyah Budak was Potato and Brayden Bearcub and Kimimila Pipestem-Blue Earth were Unicorns. Playing Pixies were Haeli Clark, Bailey Bearcub, Castiel Erickson, Peyton Vallie, Maia McGowan and Tetsua Darnell. Cast as Billy Goats Gruff were Rachael Pipestem, Loraina Lindsay and Brooklyn Turcotte. Autumn Jackson was a Troll. The Three Bears were Shooter Clark, Maxxie Demarrias and Malleena Fast Horse. Ogres were Kylan Egnacheski, Hunter Zimmerman, Austin Redboy and Brody Bearcub. Kora McGowan and Kehlani Stafne were mushrooms. Skye Fast Horse and Scarlett Brien were assistant directors. Bridgett Drummond accompanied the musical numbers. Frenchy was played by MCT tour actor/director Kassidy Kampmeier. Brian Penn was also director/tour actor. The play, adapted by Michael McGill, was set in the French countryside and the characters told a silly tale of personal triumph and friendship. According to the program, “The Ogres garden in the Mushroom patch while the Corn and Potato spies report back to Madame Gothel. The lost Prince, Rapunzel’s parents and her friends the Unicorns try to help. Just when you think it’s safe to cross the bridge, a Troll and Three Billy Goats Gruff get in the way. It doesn’t help that Three Bears (or is it four) confuse Rapunzel with Goldilocks and chase her through the forest. Add to that the Gremlins trying to play tricks on everyone, and you have chaos! Well, it’s not that bad because the Pixies foil the Gremlins’ plans most of the time.” (Photo by Katie Smith)
