Three Inland cities ranked among safest in California
Murietta, Fontana and Menifee have been ranked among the 20 safest cities in California by SafeWise magazine. The Inland Empire cities were ranked 16th, 17th and 18th respectively by the home and community safety publication. No other city in Riverside or San Bernardino counties made the list, which was based on FBI crime data.
Crash Knocks Braden Chiaramonte Out of Usac/Cra Race at Perris
Driving a brand new car, Braden Chiaramonte was working his way towards the front in the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA 30-lap main event last Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway. However, a tangle that involved some lapped cars gathered him in and knocked him out of the race with nine laps to go. Sadly, what could have been a top-five finish ended up being a 20th.
Pedestrian Struck, Killed Near Temecula Promenade Mall
An investigation continued Monday into the death of a 39-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed near a mall in downtown Temecula. Leland Franklin of Temecula was fatally hit at 9:55 p.m. Friday on Winchester Road, just south of Promenade Mall East, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
