1 hospitalized in crash that closes Sacramento roads
SACRAMENTO -- One person was taken to the hospital in serious condition after a multiple-vehicle crash in Sacramento Thursday afternoon. Police said just after 4 p.m. that West El Camino and Northgate Boulevard were closed due to the crash. People were urged to use alternative routes before the roadway reopened sometime before 7 p.m. The fire department confirmed that one person was taken to the hospital and was stable at last check. Another person had minor injuries. A white Tesla and silver Toyota SUV appeared to be involved in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.

FOLSOM, Calif — A $1,000 bill was stolen during a burglary Saturday in Folsom. The bill from 1934 was stolen from a house in the Woodbridge neighborhood around 6:30 p.m., according to Folsom Police Department spokesman Cmdr. Andrew Bates. The resident reportedly came back and found their home broken into with multiple items gone, including the bill and six gold coins, Bates said.
Killer of Citrus Heights man granted early parole
CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — A man convicted in the killing of a Citrus Heights man could be out on parole in November. Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho said Jeffrey Powell was granted an early parole after serving 10 years out of a 16 years to life sentence. Ho called for an en banc review and recission, but the Board of Parole Hearings affirmed the parole grant on April 17, 2024.
