COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Cameras with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) reported a crash on I-26 East Wednesday morning. The crash occurred at Exit 97 and has caused all lanes to be closed and has slowed traffic substantially. As of 10:00 a.m., SCDOT is reporting the scene has been cleared.

Traffic moving again after overturned truck causes backup on I-26 East near Peak exit
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — An early morning traffic accident that caused a slowdown for motorists along I-26 East, near the Peak exit, has been cleared. Around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, a dump truck carrying asphalt overturned, spilling its load. There was also a small oil leak associated with this incident. DHEC was not required to be at the scene because of the small amount of oil released on the roadway. A local emergency response team spread "oil dry" to contain the oil and clean up the scene.

Van hits tree, catches fire off Parklane, at least two taken to hospital
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Columbia Fire Department reported at least two people were taken to the hospital after a van caught on fire off Parklane Road. Firefighters said the van left the roadway, hit a tree and caught fire. They said three passengers were in the van and they all got out safely. However, at least two people were taken to the hospital via EMS.
