Man pleads not guilty to possessing improvised explosive devices
A Cameron man accused of possessing improvised explosive devices after a police investigation into the death of a Rice Lake man pleaded not guilty to charges filed against him in the case. Wayne S. Hensel, 64, was charged on March 27 in Barron County Circuit Court with four felonies: possession of improvised explosives, possession of methamphetamine and two of bail jumping. Hensel pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment on Friday and is free on a $500 cash bond with conditions that include he not possess any firearms or explosives. If convicted of possessing improvised explosive devices, Hensel could be fined up to $10,000 and sentenced to up to six years in prison. A hearing has been set for Aug. 16.
Area athletes qualify for state track and field meet
The competition was fierce with 51 teams represented at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 3 Track and Field Meet at Cameron High School on May 23, 2024. Track and field: Cameron qualifies 11 events for state meet
The Cameron Comets track and field teams qualified 11 events for the state meet during a Division 3 sectional held in Cameron on Thursday.
