Law enforcement to release new details Tuesday in missing kayaker case
DECORAH, Ia. - The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Offices says new details regarding a missing kayaker will be released Tuesday. No specific time was given. When KIMT News 3 asked Sheriff's Deputy Logan Hopp if a search was being conducted Monday, he said he could not comment. We also asked if a body had been found. He said he could not comment on that either and more information would be released Tuesday.
Man found guilty for 2012 shotgun slaying in northeast Iowa
NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – A guilty verdict has been returned in the trial over a 2012 murder in northeast Iowa. Randy Lee Patrie, 51, has been convicted of first-degree murder for the killing of Carl Gallmeyer. Prosecutors say Patrie was breaking into Gallmeyer’s home in rural Nashua in September 2012 and shot and killed Gallmeyer with a shotgun.
Missing Iowa kayaker identified, search continues
FREEPORT, Iowa — Authorities have identified a kayaker missing on the Upper Iowa River since Saturday,KCRG reports. The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday said Justin Gerald Limkemann, 39, of Frederika, was alone when he launched onto the Upper Iowa River around 2 p.m. on Saturday. He was reportedly last known to be on the river near the Freeport area at around 6 p.m. Saturday.
