Sunday, April 28, the United Methodist Church-sponsored Wesley Foundation at the College of William and Mary hosted a farewell party for Reverend Max Blalock after his 14 years of service at the College. Current and former students as well as local church members gathered on the Wesley front lawn to celebrate Blalock with a dinner and parting speeches.
Bacon’s Castle Spring Village Faire Set
The 2024 Spring Faire at Bacon’s Castle portraying life in the early 1500s is set for May 4, and promises to be better than ever according to Site Coordinator Carol Weidel. “Once again, the popular Tidewater Dogs of War will be demonstrating Armored Combat and talking about the history of the sport, weapons, performing duels, and interacting with the crowd including answering questions,” Weidel began.

Union High School's Performing Arts Company Takes Home Multiple Awards at World Strides Heritage Festival
UNION, NJ - Members of Union High School's Performing Arts Company (UHSPAC) took part in the annual World Strides Heritage Festival in Williamsburg, Virginia, last weekend and took home multiple prestigious awards. UHSPAC's three performing groups -- (1) Swing Choir, Director Melissa Hannon, Choreographer Ashley Carr; (2) Concert Band, Director Dr. Richard Grennor; and (3) String Orchestra, Director Dr. Richard Grennor -- received silver ratings. The Spirit award is given to one school that demonstrates superior character, cooperation, enthusiasm, and citizenship.
