Fatal semi crash in Wasatch County results in hazardous material situation
WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — A fatal semi crash, involving a truck carrying a propane tank, led to a hazardous material situation on Monday, May 20, 2024, in Wasatch County. Around 7:12 pm, the semi-truck was traveling southbound on SR-189 near mile marker 24 when it veered off the road and jackknifed for unknown reasons. The semi and the tanker crashed through a guardrail, coming to a halt in Deer Creek Reservoir. The crash ruptured the tank, releasing propane gas into the air. The driver of the truck was initially missing, with the cab of the truck submerged and the trailer partially submerged.
Deer Valley gets approval for new six-pack bubble lift off Ontario
The ski resort now has all approvals for its major expansion, which involves adding nine new lifts and nearly 3,000 acres of terrain by winter 2025-2026. The lift approved Wednesday will pick up skiers where the Trump run meets Ontario. Plans approved for 50 more condos in MIDA project area
The Military Installation Development Authority’s Development Review Committee signed off on plans for a subdivision of 50 new townhomes west of the Jordanelle Reservoir. At a meeting Tuesday afternoon, committee members approved the plat and site plan for the Marcella Landing subdivision, which will be constructed north of the Grand Hyatt hotel in MIDA’s Wasatch County project area, along U.S. 40.
