In recognition of Historic Preservation and Archeological Awareness Month, Carson City’s Historic Resources Commission has organized the 2024 Scavenger Hunt. “This year’s hunt focuses on the early years of Carson City, beginning in the 1860s and continuing through 1900, and will ask participants to match the architectural term with the correct house,” the city said in a press release.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – City Council halted an item establishing a local minimum wage ordinance and potentially increasing the minimum wage in the City of South Lake Tahoe. Councilmember Tamara Wallace made a motion directing the city manager to take no action establishing a local minimum wage, seconded by Councilmember Cristi Creegan. The motion passed 3-1 with both Wallace and Creegan, along with Mayor Cody Bass, voting yes. Councilmember Scott Robbins voted no.
