Woman charged in fatal boat club crash released on bond
MONROE — The woman charged with crashing her car into a Monroe County boat club Saturday afternoon, killing two children and injuring at least 13 other people at a birthday party, was released from the Monroe County Jail Thursday. Jail officials confirmed Marshella Chidester, 66, was released after posting 10 percent of her $1.5 million bond. Ms. Chidester is charged with two counts of second-degree murder from operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of operating while intoxicated, causing death, and four counts of operating while intoxicated, causing serious injury. She faces life in prison if convicted of the murder charges.
