Pa. man sentenced to prison for providing fentanyl that killed his brother, 15
SUBURY — A Northumberland County man has been sentenced to 1 to 5 years in prison for providing the fentanyl that killed his brother. Christopher Payne, 22, of Mount Carmel, apologized before being sentenced Monday in county court on a charge of involuntary manslaughter to which he had pleaded guilty in February.
Nearly $5,000 worth of gas stolen from truck stop in Carbon County, state police say
WHITE HAVEN, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police say almost $5,000 worth of gasoline was stolen from a truck stop in Carbon County last week. Troopers were sent to the Onvo Travel Plaza at Route 534 in White Haven, Carbon County on April 24 for the report of 1200 gallons of diesel fuel stolen, according to a news release from state police.
Low-cost spay and neuter clinic in NEPA to close
SCRANTON, Pa. — Eastern PA Animal Alliance is a non-profit, low-cost spay and neuter clinic in NEPA. EPAA has a location in Wilkes-Barre that is open on Mondays and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, EPAA goes mobile, traveling to Scranton and the Mount Pocono area. The techs with EPAA showed Newswatch 16 inside the mobile clinic, where thousands of stray and feral cats are fixed each year.
