Video shows man getting arrested after crawling out of stolen food truck’s window, per police
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department arrested and charged 24-year-old Joao Vithor De Lara Silva with stealing a food truck on Wednesday, May 1. According to the WPD, officers were called about the theft initially near 1000 South College Road. The WPD says it was found on Peachtree Avenue soon after, and Silva was found trying to get out of the truck’s window. Video submitted to WECT shows police arresting Silva after he crawled out of the window, the WPD says.

Chances for spring showers and storms are 0% tonight and Friday, 20% Saturday, and 30% Sunday. Wilmington officially recorded 0.01 inches of rain on Wednesday, May 1, though there were a few heavier storms around. Highs could make a run at 90 degrees in spots by the middle of next week. Muggy lows in the middle 60s may only drop into the lower 70s next week.
